Cisco cBR-8 Convergent Cable Access Platform

With the continuous and drastic increase of subscriber bandwidths and the increase in the number of digital television channels, service operator companies are forced to use new technologies. In the short term, the expansion of existing DOCSIS 3.0 based systems can be a solution. However, in the long run, you must choose to build a completely new, pure optical FTTH network, or rebuild your existing HFC network and launch a DOCSIS 3.1 service.

Cisco's new cBR-8 DOCSIS 3.1 compatible CCAP headend solution integrates data, voice and digital video in one system. CBR-8 is designed to support distributed PHY, both DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.1 standards, all available video standards and state-of-the-art software-driven networking solutions.
